College Information - Probe College Fairs

Information for College Reps - Georgia College Fairs

All high school juniors and seniors in Georgia public and private schools are encouraged to attend PROBE College Fairs. Counselors, principals, headmasters, superintendents, parents and officials of institutions represented in the fairs are also urged to attend.

Students prefer presentations that cover information which cannot be found in publications: transitions to college, academic climate, student regulations, financial aid, housing, and social & religious activities. Information should be supplied in sufficient quantities to give one to each interested student.

*IMAGE: Each representative should keep in mind that actions during PROBE activities reflect not only his or her own situation, but other representatives and their institution as well.

*NACAC PRINCIPLES OF GOOD PRACTICE have been adopted by GEAC as a guide. Representatives should be familiar with and abide by them.

*PROMPTNESS is important. Representatives should be on time for the program (set up at least 15 to 30 minutes before) and should remain until the end. Keep in mind rush hour traffic problems.

*A CONFLICT OR EMERGENCY may arise which prevents a representative from attending a particular program. The event host should be notified if this occurs.

*TABLE COVERS ARE REQUIRED for all institutions that participate in PROBE. These should be covers appropriate for 6 foot tables and must cover the entire tabletop. Some Programs will require table covers to the floor on three sides. Representatives arriving at programs without tablecloths will be required to get one, or will be asked to leave the program.

*AUDIO and VIDEO EQUIPMENT are not permitted at fairs and workshops.

*SMOKING is not permitted by College Representatives at display tables during PROBE events.

*ALL CORRESPONDENCE to participating institutions from PROBE will be addressed to Director of Admissions.
