The highly anticipated Probe College Tour is back starting this fall with opportunities for Georgia students. Representatives from colleges and universities are eager to meet high schoolers.
With 68 free fairs planned across the state, Probe once again lives up to its commitment of being a leader in offering exposure to secondary education opportunities. This year’s face-to-face fairs will allow unparalleled connections for students and college representatives.
“We are so excited to be back in person again after a year hosting virtual fairs,” says Clint Hobbs, Probe Executive Director. “We remain committed to offering safe events and recognize a face-to-face approach has unique benefits for participants.”
To mitigate concerns regarding COVID, fair organizers are implementing several safety features for the 2021-22 tour.
- All students will need to pre-register on the Probe website to get their unique QR code. Through a touchless experience, students can share their information to get on college mailing lists.
- Organizers will adjust to adopt health and safety recommendations.
- Mitigation efforts may include but are not limited to recommended masking, social distancing, and capacity management.
In addition, for all involved, flexibility will be a crucial component. Probe officials recognize some fairs may need to adjust their dates or other plans based on the guidance of health experts. A virtual fair option will also be available.
“We know we can’t ignore the current health crisis,” says Hobbs. “But we recognize Probe fairs are essential for connecting Georgia high school students to post-secondary options.”
According to Hobbs, Probe remains one of the top ways for representatives to connect with Georgia high school students and their families. For some institutions, as much as 20 percent of their fall enrollment is sourced from in-person fairs.
Fairs are also a great way to introduce students to colleges of various sizes. Often, a small or mid-sized school may be the best fit for a student, and Hobbs notes that Probe is where students often discover and connect with colleges they are not familiar with.
“Probe offers a great first step in the college selection process,” says Hobbs. “Getting information from a variety of colleges and universities will help students plan for an on-campus visit to their top choice or choices.”
Fair dates and locations are listed on the Probe website at www.gaprobe.org or by visiting RegisterProbe.com.
For students who don’t have a local fair option or would prefer to connect with colleges online, Probe is offering a virtual fair on October 13, 2021, from 5 pm to 8 pm. Registration for the virtual fair will open in mid-September.
Anyone interested in attending should also follow the Probe tour on social media to be notified of any schedule adjustments or participation requirements.
